TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

As the seasons change and temperatures begin to rise, it’s the perfect time to make sure your vehicle is ready for the road ahead. At Real Autohaus Automotive, we’re proud to serve communities throughout the Chicagoland suburbs — including St. Charles, Westmont, Arlington Heights, and Rolling Meadows — with expert auto repair and maintenance services. Warmer weather brings its own set of challenges for your vehicle, so here are a few tips to keep your car in peak condition all season long.

1. Check Your A/C System

Nothing’s worse than getting stuck in traffic without a working air conditioner. If your system isn’t blowing cold air or has a strange odor, let our technicians inspect it. We’ll check for refrigerant leaks, inspect belts, and make sure your A/C is running efficiently.

2. Inspect Your Tires

Hot pavement can accelerate tire wear. Make sure your tires are properly inflated, have adequate tread depth, and are aligned correctly. If you’re unsure, swing by any of our Real Autohaus Automotive locations for a tire inspection.

3. Change Your Oil and Filters

Oil changes are essential for engine health, especially in the heat. Warmer temperatures can cause oil to break down faster, reducing its effectiveness. Our team will get you set up with the right oil and filter for your vehicle.

4. Test Your Battery

Extreme temperatures (cold or hot) can impact your battery’s life. We'll check the charge and overall condition so you’re not left stranded when you least expect it.

5. Inspect Belts and Hoses

Hot weather can cause rubber components like belts and hoses to become brittle or crack. Let our ASE-certified technicians at Real Autohaus Automotive do a thorough inspection to avoid unexpected breakdowns.

6. Check Wiper Blades and Top Off Fluids

Rainstorms can come out of nowhere in spring and summer. Make sure your wiper blades are in good condition and your washer fluid, coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid levels are all topped off.

Trust Real Autohaus Automotive for All Your Warm Weather Car Care

We’re proud to serve drivers across the western and northwest suburbs of Chicago with trusted automotive repair and maintenance. Visit us at any of our four convenient locations:

Basic Description Most brake systems use a layout very similar to that seen here, comprising the pedal, a booster, master cylinder, hydraulic lines and hoses, and calipers or wheel cylinders that apply pressure to a pad coated in friction material so that it pushes against a rotating disc or drum. Technical Description The purpose of the system is to convert the energy of the moving vehicle into heat in order slow the vehicle down. Although some hybrid vehicles are beginning to convert kinetic energy into stored electricity, all vehicles still use a brake system similar to that shown here. The pressure from the drivers foot (with assistance provided by the vacuum booster) is initially converted into fluid pressure in the brake lines by the brake master cylinder. Brake fluid is a hydraulic fluid that is stable in volume under a wide range of temperatures - it does not expand as it heats up.The pressurized brake fluid forces the pistons in the brake caliper outwards, so that they press against brake pads. The pads squeeze the surface of the rotating brake disc, causing it to slow, and generating heat. The heat is dispersed through cooling fins inside the rotor to prevent the rotor and pads from overheating. Video Animation Explanation click here: https://www.srvc.video/7wTQ
